China’s toroidal inductors industry achieved remarkable milestones in 2023, with production reaching 21.7 billion units and output value surpassing 59.6 billion yuan, according to a recent industry report. High-end products meeting IE4 energy efficiency standards accounted for 68.4% of total output, while exports contributed 34.2% to the global market share, solidifying the country’s leading position. The growth is attributed to multi-level policy support: the central government included high-performance toroidal inductors in the core component research list under the 14th Five-Year Plan, while local governments in Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang offered R&D subsidies and smart factory incentives.

Technological advancements drove further expansion, with nanocrystalline core shipments rising 41.2% year-on-year, enabling toroidal inductors to operate at frequencies exceeding 1MHz with 30-50% lower power loss. Automakers like BYD and NIO have adopted automotive-grade toroidal inductors certified to AEC-Q200 Grade 0, fueling a 36-billion-yuan market segment for new energy vehicle applications.
