May 10, 2026, Shanghai, China A joint research report released by China Electronic Components Industry Association and Dataintelo clearly points out that the global market demand for automotive-grade toroidal power inductor will double by 2030, which is mainly driven by the comprehensive electrification of passenger vehicles, commercial new energy vehicles and intelligent driving auxiliary systems.
Traditional fuel vehicles only use a small number of low-power inductors for audio and lighting circuits, while pure electric and hybrid vehicles will deploy dozens of automotive-grade toroidal power inductor in core electrical systems. High-voltage on-board charging modules, 48V light hybrid power supply, ADAS millimeter-wave radar power boards, motor control units and solid-state battery equalization circuits all rely on high-reliability toroidal power inductor for voltage stabilization, energy storage and differential-mode noise filtering.
Different from consumer and industrial inductors, automotive-grade toroidal power inductor must pass strict AEC-Q200 reliability verification and ISO 26262 functional safety certification, resisting long-term vehicle vibration, high and low temperature cycles and instantaneous high voltage impact during the 10-15-year service life of automobiles. At present, international manufacturers such as TDK, Bourns and Sumida are accelerating the expansion of automotive magnetic component production lines, while domestic Chinese enterprises such as Sunlord Electronics and Fenghua Advanced have realized mass supply of certified automotive toroidal power inductor, breaking the long-term monopoly of Japanese and European brands in the high-end vehicle component market. Industry experts emphasize that with the popularization of 800V high-voltage platforms and autonomous driving technology, the technical threshold and market value of automotive toroidal power inductor will continue to rise.
