BEL Fuse Launches Flat-Wound Toroidal Power Inductor to Solve High-Frequency Heating Problems of Industrial Power Supplies

March 6, 2026, Chicago, USA BEL Fuse, a well-known international supplier of circuit protection and magnetic components under BEL Group, officially released the SHFWT series flat-wire wound toroidal power inductor, which is oriented to high-frequency industrial switching power supplies, servo drive systems, solar micro-inverters and outdoor 5G small base station power modules, solving the industry pain points of excessive AC resistance and severe heating of traditional round-wire toroidal inductors under MHz-level high-frequency switching conditions. 
Conventional round copper wire wound toroidal power inductor will produce obvious proximity effect loss under high-frequency operation, which seriously restricts power supply efficiency and increases equipment heat dissipation costs.
 The SHFWT series innovatively uses flat copper edge winding to build the winding layer of the toroidal power inductor, realizing compact single-layer winding layout, reducing inter-turn parasitic capacitance and high-frequency AC loss by 27%. The closed toroidal magnetic core completely eliminates side magnetic leakage, enabling the toroidal power inductor to run stably in highly dense PCB layouts without interfering with surrounding sensitive signal circuits. The new toroidal power inductor covers inductance specifications ranging from 1μH to 100μH, with rated working current ranging from 3A to 45A, and supports long-term stable operation at 140°C. BEL’s technical team completed comparative testing on 20kW industrial switching power supplies: after replacing ordinary inductors with flat-wire toroidal power inductor, the overall energy efficiency of the power supply increased by 4.2%, and the surface temperature of magnetic components decreased by nearly 18°C under full load. At present, the mass production line of the new series has been put into operation at BEL’s Mexican factory, and engineering samples have been provided to global industrial equipment and communication OEM customers for verification and testing.
