The IEEE Standards Association has announced the formation of a new working group to develop standardized testing and characterization methods for vertical toroidal inductors. This initiative aims to address the lack of industry-wide standards for evaluating the performance of these emerging components.

The working group, comprised of leading engineers and researchers, will focus on establishing guidelines for measuring key parameters such as inductance, quality factor (Q), and thermal performance. These standards are expected to facilitate the widespread adoption of vertical toroidal inductors by ensuring consistent quality and reliability.

Dr. Robert Lee, chair of the working group, said, "Standardization is critical for the success of any new technology. By developing clear testing protocols, we can help manufacturers and designers confidently integrate vertical toroidal inductors into their products.
