Bourns has expanded its SRN series of semi-shielded SMD power inductors, offering a middle ground between fully shielded and non-shielded alternatives for DC-DC converter applications. The components use magnetic epoxy resin shielding to reduce radiation emissions while cutting footprint and costs compared to fully shielded models.
Ideal for mobile devices, renewable energy systems, and data storage hardware, the SRN5040 and related series boast low DC resistance, wide inductance ranges, and high current-handling capabilities. “This SMD power inductor lineup solves design dilemmas—engineers no longer choose between performance and cost,” explained a Bourns engineer. The eco-friendly inductors comply with RoHS regulations and are AEC-Q200 certified for automotive use, supporting applications from infotainment systems to battery management.
