High-Frequency Pulse Transformer: Key Function and Operation

High-frequency pulse transformers are crucial components in pulse-modulated systems, where rapid voltage changes are needed. Like other transformers, their working principle is also based on electromagnetic induction. The transformer has two sets of coils: the primary and secondary. The alternating current applied to the primary coil generates an alternating magnetic field in the transformer core, which induces an electromotive force in the secondary coil. The voltage transformation ratio is determined by the coil turn ratio. For instance, a 500-turn primary coil and a 250-turn secondary coil would reduce a 220V input into 110V.

Pulse transformers are widely used in circuits that require sharp voltage transitions, such as power inverters and digital communication systems. The ability to accurately transmit pulse signals with minimal distortion makes high-frequency pulse transformers a key component in many advanced electronics.
