A high-frequency switching transformer operates on the principle of electromagnetic induction, utilizing alternating current to convert voltages in electronic circuits. The transformer consists of two coils: the primary and secondary, where the primary coil generates an alternating magnetic field that induces voltage in the secondary coil. The turns ratio between the two determines the voltage transformation. For example, if the primary coil has fewer turns than the secondary, the transformer increases the voltage, turning low voltage into high voltage (step-up transformer).
High-frequency switching transformers are commonly used in power supplies for devices like computers and TVs. These transformers allow efficient energy transfer between circuits, making them indispensable in modern power systems where energy efficiency and space-saving designs are critical.
