May 13, 2026 | Tokyo, Japan Taiyo Yuden has expanded its MCOIL LSCN series with a new family of ultra compact SMD power inductor components designed for wearable devices, true wireless earbuds, smart sensors, portable medical gadgets, and battery powered IoT nodes.
These miniaturized devices feature industry leading miniaturization with case sizes as small as 1.0 mm × 0.8 mm × 0.8 mm, reducing footprint by up to 40% compared to previous generations while preserving strong saturation current and stable inductance performance.
Despite their tiny dimensions, the new SMD power inductor products maintain low DCR to minimize power consumption and extend battery runtime. The fully enclosed magnetic structure suppresses EMI and magnetic leakage, preventing interference with sensitive RF, Bluetooth, and sensor circuits in highly integrated compact designs. With global shipments of wearables and IoT devices expected to exceed 40 billion units in the next five years, demand for miniaturized, high efficiency SMD power inductor solutions will remain strong, positioning Taiyo Yuden as a leading supplier in the consumer and IoT power component space.
