Bourns Debuts Low-Profile SMD Power Inductors for Mobile DC-DC Converters

Bourns has introduced a new line of low-profile shielded SMD power inductors optimized for DC-DC converters in smartphones, tablets, and portable medical devices. The components feature a height of just 0.7mm, making them ideal for slim device designs, while their flat wire technology and powdered iron cores reduce DC resistance by 25% compared to conventional models.

With inductance values ranging from 0.1µH to 10µH and rated currents up to 8A, the series supports fast-charging circuits and low-noise power supplies. “This SMD power inductor addresses the dual challenge of miniaturization and efficiency in mobile tech,” said a Bourns product lead. All variants are RoHS compliant and undergo rigorous testing for temperature stability (-40°C to +125°C), ensuring reliability in harsh operating conditions.
