In the realm of low-frequency transformers, there are three main types: interstage coupling transformers, input transformers, and output transformers. These transformers serve critical functions in audio amplification systems.
Interstage Coupling Transformer: Positioned between two amplifier stages, it facilitates the transfer of signals while providing necessary impedance conversion.
Input Transformer: Used in earlier semiconductor radios, the input transformer couples signals between the audio push stage and the power amplifier. Available in single-ended and push-pull designs, it fits the circuit type accordingly.
Output Transformer: This transformer connects the output of the power amplifier to the speaker, ensuring the efficient transfer of signals while performing impedance matching. It comes in both single-ended and push-pull configurations.
