Low-frequency transformers come in three primary types: interstage coupling transformers, input transformers, and output transformers, each serving different roles in circuit design.
Interstage Coupling Transformer: These are used to connect two amplifier circuits, transmitting signals and performing necessary impedance adjustments between stages.

Input Transformer: In older radio designs, input transformers are used for signal coupling between the audio push stage and the power amplifier stage. Depending on the amplifier’s configuration, they are either single-ended or push-pull.

Output Transformer: This type of transformer is used to connect the amplifier’s output to the speaker, playing a vital role in signal transmission and impedance matching. It can be either single-ended or push-pull.
