TDK has used its mature material technology to develop a new high-temperature resistant material, which is applied to the CLF 7045-D series of power inductors, enabling the series to maintain excellent efficiency and stability over a wide temperature range of -40°C to +150°C. The CLF 7045-D power inductor measures 6.9 x 7.2 x 4.5 mm³, with rated inductance values ranging from 1µH to 470µH, rated current values ranging from 0.43A to 8.9A, and DC resistance ranging from 9.6mΩ to 1.42Ω. This series of products is suitable for applications such as chokes in DC-DC converters of engine control modules, and can also be used in automotive headlight systems, airbags and anti-lock brake systems. In addition, TDK uses automated processes for the connection wires and coil windings of the CLF 7045-D series to achieve a high-quality solderless and substrate-free design, and began mass production in May 2012.
