The rapid expansion of electronic devices has intensified concerns over electromagnetic emissions. Computer motherboards, in particular, are significant sources of EMI due to their complex circuit structures.
Common mode currents generated within these systems can propagate through external cables, leading to unintended radiation. This phenomenon is especially evident in high-speed data interfaces, where signal lines can act as antennas.
To control this issue, global regulatory bodies such as the Federal Communications Commission and CISPR have established strict emission limits. China's GB9254 standard also enforces similar requirements.
Manufacturers must therefore integrate effective EMI suppression techniques into their designs. Common mode inductors, as part of filter circuits, are widely used to reduce both conducted and radiated interference, ensuring compliance with international standards.
