Moisture can be detrimental to the performance of high-frequency pulse transformers, causing insulation failure and ultimately leading to transformer breakdowns. Preventing moisture infiltration is a critical step in ensuring the longevity and functionality of these transformers.

One approach is to evacuate moisture by using a vacuum pump before the workday ends. This removes free water from the surface of the transformer. Before starting work the following day, introduce dry nitrogen or dry air to further remove moisture. After maintenance, ensure the high-frequency pulse transformer runs a 24-hour hot oil circulation process to dry the system thoroughly.

To protect the transformer from external moisture, implement rainproof measures daily. Following each workday, the transformer should be dried using hot oil spraying, a process that typically takes 7–10 days. These steps are essential for maintaining the performance of high-frequency pulse transformers, preventing costly repairs, and ensuring continuous operation.
