May 20, 2026, Tokyo, Japan Global passive component giant TDK Corporation officially launched a new automotive-grade toroidal power inductor series specially customized for mainstream 800V high-voltage electric vehicle architectures worldwide, covering core vehicle systems such as on-board chargers, high-voltage DC-DC converters, traction motor drive units and battery management systems.

This new toroidal power inductor strictly meets AEC-Q200 Grade 1 international automotive reliability standards, supporting continuous stable operation under extreme temperature conditions ranging from -40°C to +150°C, and adopts reinforced anti-vibration winding packaging to adapt to long-term bumpy driving and complex vibration environments inside new energy vehicles.

The product is equipped with high-density manganese-zinc ferrite toroidal magnetic core paired with fully-enameled thick copper precision winding. The closed annular magnetic circuit structure of the toroidal power inductor restricts magnetic flux leakage below 0.45%, far better than traditional open E-core inductors in suppressing electromagnetic interference, helping vehicle manufacturers quickly pass strict automotive EMC certification without additional filtering circuits. In actual electrical performance testing, this series of toroidal power inductor achieves 22% higher saturation current and 16% lower DC resistance than inductors of the same volume, reducing power conversion loss by nearly 13% under full-load operation, effectively alleviating thermal accumulation inside vehicle power modules and improving actual cruising range of electric vehicles. TDK’s automotive product director stated that industry data predicts 800V high-voltage EV models will account for over 66% of global new energy vehicle production by 2030, which will form long-term rigid demand for high-withstand-voltage and high-efficiency toroidal power inductor.

The new product has entered large-scale mass production at TDK’s manufacturing bases in Indonesia and East China, and has obtained fixed mass procurement orders from many European, Japanese and Chinese mainstream automakers for their 2026-2027 vehicle platform projects.
