Power Management Firm Launches Next-Gen Vertical Toroidal Inductor for EV Chargers

August 15, 2025 – California-based PowerTech Solutions today unveiled its latest vertical toroidal inductor, designed specifically to enhance the efficiency of electric vehicle (EV) fast chargers. The new component, named VT-800, features a compact toroidal core that reduces energy loss by 18% compared to traditional inductors, while its vertical design cuts PCB space usage by 25%.

“EV charger manufacturers are struggling with size and heat management,” said Maria Gonzalez, PowerTech’s lead engineer. “Our vertical toroidal inductor addresses both pain points—its circular core minimizes magnetic interference, and the vertical orientation allows for better heat dissipation in dense charger layouts.” Initial tests with a major EV charging network show the VT-800 can handle 800V input without performance degradation, making it compatible with next-gen ultra-fast chargers.
